Bezodtokové preliačiny - vegetačné refúgiá v riečnej krajine Turčianskej kotliny

Alluvial fan depressions - vegetation refugia in fluvial landscapes of Turčianska kotlina Basin

Dana Bernátová, Ján Kliment, Ján Topercer

Acta Carp. Occ. 12: 3-11, 2021 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2021.001

Fluvial landscapes show great complexity of sediment and relief forms, scales, dynamics and age. In Turčianska kotlina Basin, distinctly complex relief assemblages have evolved on large Diviaky alluvial fan of Mindelian age. Particularly fan depressions are vital to the storage and passage of surface waters, long-term accumulation of organic materials and establishment of a range of wetland habitats. Due to their environmental heterogeneity, vegetation in depressions is seldom homogeneous. Here we document the species composition, structure and environmental settings of the association Caricetum elato-lasiocarpae Lájer 1997 with dominant Carex elata...

Second contribution to the faunistics of beetles (Coleoptera) in the Wallachian region (eastern Moravia, Czech Republic)

Ondřej Konvička

Acta Carp. Occ. 12: 43-102, 2021 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2021.003

Faunistics records of beetles (Coleoptera) from the Walachia region (eastern Moravia, Czech Republic) are presented. The most of the published records comes from the last 30 years. A total of 721 species of beetles from 72 families are listed. Of these, 1 species is considered regionally extinct, 7 species are critically endangered, 29 species are classified as endangered, 30 species are assessed as vulnerable and 46 belong to near threatened category in the Red List of Invertebrates of the Czech Republic. In total, 108 species are included in the Red List of Invertebrates. Of the weevils (Curculionidae) and ground beetles (Carabidae), 9 species are...

Acta Carp. Occ. 12: 103-133, 2021 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2021.004

This paper presents the first comprehensive survey of the ground beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) from the Váté písky National Natural Monument, including the banks of the Morava River (the Osypané břehy Natural Monument), the adjacent floodplain forest, the surrounding pine forests on the sands and the sand quarry area of Bzenec-Přívoz. The whole area is part of the Strážnické Pomoraví Nature Park. 242 species of ground beetles were documented in the studied area, which represents about 40 % of all species known from all over the Czech Republic. Of this amount, 37 species figure in the Red List of threatened species of invertebrates of the Czech Republic...

První lokalita majky uralské (Meloe uralensis) (Coleoptera: Meloidae) na střední Moravě (Česká republika)

First record of meloid beetle (Meloe uralensis) (Coleoptera: Meloidae) in Central Moravia (Czech Republic)

Acta Carp. Occ. 12: 134-139, 2021 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2021.005

First faunistic records of critically endangered meloid beetle Meloe uralensis in Central Moravia (Czech Republic) and notes on its biology and conservation are presented. Discovered locality Němčice nad Hanou is northernmost occupied place in the Czech Republic. During three years, 24 adults were observed. They were active from mid- March to the end of April under sunny conditions with temperature 13-24 °C. Most of adults were observed in margin of fields (running or eating cereals in most cases, less frequently sunning on higher vegetation). Several potential hosts (bees) were observed: Andrena flavipes, A. subopaca, Colletes cunicularius, Lasioglossum...

Brouci (Coleoptera) Bystřice pod Hostýnem a okolí (východní Morava, Česká republika)

Beetles (Coleoptera) of the Bystřice pod Hostýnem and its environs (eastern Moravia, Czech Republic)

Jakub Pátek

Acta Carp. Occ. 12: 140-167, 2021 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2021.006

Bystřice pod Hostýnem (eastern Moravia, Czech Republic) and its surroundigs is interesting and poorly explored region from entomological point of view. The following article presents over 200 selected species of beetles (Coleoptera) found during the years 2006-2021 in 4 faunal grids (6571, 6572, 6671 and 6672). Over 50 of recorded species belongs to Red List of Threatened Species of the Czech Republic, many of them previously unknown from these area/region. The most remarkable records include Magdalis caucasica, which becomes new species for Moravia region. Another rare and endangered species such as Ampedus tristis, Calosoma sycophanta, Leptura aurulenta,...

Potápník Bidessus delicatulus (Schaum, 1844) v České republice

The diving beetle Bidessus delicatulus (Schaum, 1844) in the Czech Republic

Dušan Trávníček

Acta Carp. Occ. 12: 168-173, 2021 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2021.007

Diving beetle Bidessus delicatulus is assessed as a critically endangered species in the Czech Republic. All records of this species after 2010 are presented and a map of its distribution has been compiled on the basis of these data. The beetle was also confirmed on the Bečva River during 2021, i.e. after a chemical spill in September 2020, which resulted in catastrophic death of fish in the river. However, the construction of a dam, which is being considered at this location in the future, could cause the destruction of the richest localities of this rare diving beetle in the Czech Republic.

První prokázané hnízdění puštíka bělavého (Strix uralensis) v Ptačí oblasti Hostýnské vrchy

The first confirmed breeding of the Ural Owls (Strix uralensis) in the Special Protection Area Hostýnské vrchy

Květa Zemanová, Pavel Shromáždil, Zdeněk Němeček, Jaromír Beran

Acta Carp. Occ. 12: 174-177, 2021 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2021.008

The Ural Owl is one of the species with increasing abundance and expanding range of breeding occurrence in the territory of the Czech Republic. Together with Šumava Mts., where the species was successfully reintroduced, the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains is currently one of the two areas where the species regularly breeds. Based on observation of freshly fledged juveniles in June 2021, we present the first record of breeding of the Ural Owl in the Special Protection Area Hostýnské vrchy, thus providing further evidence of its expansion in westernmost part of the Carpathians.
