Rozšíření vrby lýkovcové (Salix daphnoides Vill.) na Moravě a ve Slezsku

Distribution of the violet willow (Salix daphnoides Vill.) in Moravia and Silesia

Eva Bártová, Radim J. Vašut

Acta Carp. Occ. 2: 3-10, 2011 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2011.001

The violet willow (Salix daphnoides) is endangered species of Czech autochthonous Flora. It is sparsely distributed across the country, with the only higher frequency in the Carpathian region of eastern Moravia and Silesia. It is traditionally considered to be autochthonous in the Carpathians only. This study presents knowledge on its historical and recent chorology in the range of its expected natural distribution range. Recent distribution of species is discussed in a view of research on its biology and its population genetics in the Moravian Carpathians.

Acta Carp. Occ. 2: 11-22, 2011 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2011.002

This paper gives a complete list of bryophytes of the spring fen named Kolo (Přední louky meadows, Bílé Karpaty Mts, eastern Moravia), supplemented with a list of vascular plants and two phytosociological relevés. Bryophytes are common especially in the wet parts of the site. However, they often occur also in tree bark at the site margins. Moreover, a large number of species occurs in disturbed places such as tractor ruts. Altogether 2 species of liverworts, 38 species of mosses and 1 macroalgae species - Chara cf. vulgaris L. - were recorded. Red list species are represented by Campylium stellatum (LR-nt), Amblystegium tenax, Fissidens adianthoides,...

Flóra na vybraných lokalitách západně od Valašského Meziříčí

Flora of selected localities west of the town of Valašské Meziříčí (Czech Republic)

Bohdana Orlová, Jana Tkáčiková

Acta Carp. Occ. 2: 23-40, 2011 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2011.003

The paper summarizes the results of diploma thesis conducted by the first author in the area west of the Valašské Meziříčí town (eastern Moravia, Czech Republic) during the years 2006-2009 supplemented with additional findings from the year 2011. The aim was to analyse floristic composition of 23 selected localities in the area. The localities were selected with respect to their potential species richness and in order to cover as much habitat variation as possible. Special attention was paid to the endangered species during the fieldwork. Historical records from the area are provided in this paper too. Altogether 599 taxa of vascular plants have been...

Acta Carp. Occ. 2: 41-50, 2011 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2011.004

Crocus heuffelianus is a Carpathian taxon. In the Czech Republic, there are last four native localities in Eastern Moravia: natural monument Hořina near Opava, the area of the town of Zubří and surroundings of the villages of Nový Hrozenkov and Horní Lomná. Crocus heuffelianus belongs to critically threatened species of the Czech Republic. The aim of this article is to describe the extant localities, especially recent threats to the populations and the habitat, vegetation, past and recent management and the number of individuals of C. heuffelianus. The detailed mapping was conducted at the localities in Zubří in 2008 and 2010. Thirteen populations...

Antioxidační vlastnosti krajových odrůd jabloní z regionu Bílých Karpat

Antioxidant properties of local apple cultivars of the White Carpathians region

Otakar Rop, Jiří Mlček, Martin Posolda

Acta Carp. Occ. 2: 51-55, 2011 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2011.005

The aim of our work was to monitor the antioxidant properties of selected cultivars of apples typical of the region of the White Carpathians. Specifically, we determined the total phenolic content and total antioxidant capacity. For the result verification we estimated the scavenging activities of fruit extracts on the reactive oxygen species (namely nitric oxide, superoxide anion and hydroxyl radical). According to obtained results the cultivars 'Strýmka', 'Panenské české' and 'Matčino' appear to be the most promising.

Data were gathered about 234 species from 37 families of Lepidoptera order by ongoing faunistic survey, by completion of missing information from collections, and by publications research. The total number of species ever detected in The White Carpathians has increased to 2074. Of this number 117 species have not been mentioned in GOTTWALD & BĚLÍN (2001). This is the first time that Micropterix tunbergella, Hepialus fusconebulosus, Ectoedemia subbimaculella, Cauchas rufimitrella, Nematopogon robertella, Tinea nonimella, Acanthopsyche atra, Paraswammerdamia nebulella, Ocnerostoma friesei, Ypsolopha dentella, Glyphipterix forsterella, Depressaria...

Ploštice (Heteroptera) pasínku Losový v Huslenkách (Vsetínské vrchy)

True bugs (Heteroptera) of traditionally grazed pasture "Losový" in Huslenky (Vsetínské vrchy hills)

Magdaléna Roháčová

Acta Carp. Occ. 2: 72-78, 2011 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2011.007

Rough grazing habitats of the Walachian region represent significant refugees for thermophilous species of true bugs in the north-eastern Moravia. The occurrence of 50 true bug species has been confirmed during a preliminary survey of this insect group in the traditionally grazed pasture "Losový". Nearly 20 % of the assemblage belong to the xerothermophilous species. The true bug Rubiconia intermedia (Wolff, 1811) classified as nearly threatened has also been recorded here.

Acta Carp. Occ. 2: 79-80, 2011 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2011.008

This paper deals with the distribution of Verbascum phoeniceum in the Vsetín region, West Carpathians, Czech Republic. The species is very rare in the region with only two (one recent and one sub-recent) known localities. Both localities are considerably isolated from continuous range of the species in warmer regions of central and southern Moravia.

Nálezy plcha lesního Dryomys nitedula (Rodentia: Gliridae) ve vrcholových partiích masivu Radhoště (Moravskoslezské Beskydy)

Findings of the Forest Dormouse Dryomys nitedula (Rodentia: Gliridae) on top section of the Radhošť massif (Moravian-Silesian Beskids, Czech Republic)

Václav Mikeš

Acta Carp. Occ. 2: 86-87, 2011 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2011.011

During the last decade the Forest Dormouse (Dryomys nitedula) was found at 1030 and 1100 m a. s. l. in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids (Czech Republic). As more than 90% of the Forest Dormouse localities in Czechia lie below 700 m of altitude (own analysis of the published records), both findings are rather unusual. There is only one other locality in our country where this species was recorded at similar high elevation. I suppose the Forest Dormouse is uncommon rodent species in areas over 1000 m a. s. l. throughout Central Europe.
