Records of powderpost beetles Lyctus africanus and Lyctus sinensis (Coleoptera: Bostrichidae: Lyctinae) in the Czech Republic

Lyctus africanus Lesne 1907, originally comes from Africa and southwest Asia. It is a common pest in dry wood within tropical regions. Five dead specimens were found in Nový Hrozenkov (eastern Moravia, Czech Republic) market-town in the interior of a house, in a bamboo roller blind imported from China. This is the third record of this species in the Czech Republic. Lyctus sinensis Lesne 1911, originating from China, Japan and Korea. Twenty specimens were found in Stochov town (central Bohemia, Czech Republic) within a wooden picture frame imported from China. This is the first record of this introduced species in the Czech Republic.
