The diving beetle Bidessus delicatulus (Schaum, 1844) in the Czech Republic

Diving beetle Bidessus delicatulus is assessed as a critically endangered species in the Czech Republic. All records of this species after 2010 are presented and a map of its distribution has been compiled on the basis of these data. The beetle was also confirmed on the Bečva River during 2021, i.e. after a chemical spill in September 2020, which resulted in catastrophic death of fish in the river. However, the construction of a dam, which is being considered at this location in the future, could cause the destruction of the richest localities of this rare diving beetle in the Czech Republic.
