Cochlearia pyrenaica DC. - notes to the occurrence of a rediscovered species from the foothills of the Belianske Tatry Mts, Slovakia

In Slovakia there are four documented historical sites of Cochlearia pyrenaica. The species was originally considered as Cochlearia tatrae, only in 2000 it was recognized as a new species for Slovakia and the Western Carpathians. Recently it is known only from two closer lying locations in the Veľká Fatra Mts. The remaining two sites were considered extinct. Our contribution contains information about the rediscovery of Cochlearia pyrenaica on the historical site near Tatranská Kotlina Settlement on the foothills of the Belianske Tatry Mts. Vital population was found in the vegetation of the association Cochleario pyrenaicae-Cratoneuretum bounded to a calcareous tufa spring. We also provide actual information about other populations of Cochlearia pyrenaica from the Veľká Fatra Mts south of the town Ružomberok (Centra Slovakia).
