The paper reports 19 new records of the edible dormouse (Glis glis) from West Carpathians. The bulk of localities lie in the Czech Republic, only one is from Slovakia. The elevation range of localities is 290-950 m a. s. l. In most cases edible dormice were observed in cottages, cabins or chalets located just on the edge of continuous woodland. The buildings have been usually occupied for many years (up to several decades) in a row, which could be connected with the edible dormouse well-known site fidelity and philopatry. Several drowned dormice were found both in a toilet bowl and a bucket of water.
