Veronika Kalníková, Renata Eremiášová
Acta Carp. Occ. 4: 3-14, 2013 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2013.001
In 2011 a total of 112 sites with Calamagrostis pseudophragmites were found along the Ostravice River in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids (Moravskoslezské Beskydy Mts.). Comparing these sites with sites mapped in 2009, we found that 37 populations remained stable, 78 disappeared and 75 were found as new. An obvious reason for this large change in the distribution of Calamagrostis pseudophragmites are floods that occurred in the spring and early summer in 2010. Disturbances by floods caused emergence of several new, although small populations. But at the same time the potential competitors were weakened as well (especially Phalaris arundinacea, willow...
Historie a současnost výskytu lněnky pyrenejské (Thesium pyrenaicum Pourr.) v Moravskoslezských Beskydech a Beskydském podhůří

This paper describes in detail its distribution in the Moravskoslezské Beskydy Mts. and their foothills (north-eastern part of the Czech Republic), including the history of this isolated group of localities. The species was recorded in less than ten localities here. The last record is from 1994 and the species is missing in the region since then.

Acta Carp. Occ. 4: 32-50, 2013 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2013.005
Willow Gentian is a protected species in the Czech Republic, occurring only in the Giant Mts., the Jizerské hory Mts., the Moravskoslezské Beskydy Mts. and the Javorníky Mts. Its detailed distribution in the western part of the Moravskoslezské Beskydy Mts. (based on the field mapping) and relations with various geographically structured ecological factors (using data sets converted and processed in the GIS environment) are presented here. Distribution of Willow Gentian appears to be strongly influenced by light and humidity conditions, Natura 2000 habitats and human activities. Generally, the Gentian has changing habitat preferences along the altitudinal...

Individual specimens of the both species have been discovered in the Lidečko village (Vsetín District) in 2013, inhabiting the sunny western slopes in the valley of Senice stream, a tributary of the Vsetínská Bečva river. One Fritillary male has been documented from the Vsetín town, the Vršky-Díly Reserve, in 2013. This record of Fritillary male is recently the northernmost record of this butterfly in the Czech Republic.

The native presence of Huchen in the Morava River is documented up to the year 1900. Later occurrence is based only on artificial stocking by fishermen. Nowhere the self-sustaining population of Huchen was found in the examined drainage.
Nové nálezy plcha velkého Glis glis (Mammalia: Rodentia: Gliridae) v Západních Karpatech
New records of the Edible Dormouse Glis glis (Mammalia: Rodentia: Gliridae) in West Carpathians
Václav Mikeš
Acta Carp. Occ. 4: 102-105, 2013 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2013.014
The paper reports 19 new records of the edible dormouse (Glis glis) from West Carpathians. The bulk of localities lie in the Czech Republic, only one is from Slovakia. The elevation range of localities is 290-950 m a. s. l. In most cases edible dormice were observed in cottages, cabins or chalets located just on the edge of continuous woodland. The buildings have been usually occupied for many years (up to several decades) in a row, which could be connected with the edible dormouse well-known site fidelity and philopatry. Several drowned dormice were found both in a toilet bowl and a bucket of water.
