The aim of our work was to monitor the antioxidant properties of selected cultivars of apples typical of the region of the White Carpathians. Specifically, we determined the total phenolic content and total antioxidant capacity. For the result verification we estimated the scavenging activities of fruit extracts on the reactive oxygen species (namely nitric oxide, superoxide anion and hydroxyl radical). According to obtained results the cultivars 'Strýmka', 'Panenské české' and 'Matčino' appear to be the most promising.
