Acta Carp. Occ. 13: 11-19, 2022 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2022.002

Showy mullein (Verbascum speciosum Schrader) is a rare and critically threatened plant species of the  Czech and Slovak flora. It was included in the Red data Book of the endangered species of the Czech and Slovak Republic. Localities in Moravia and Slovakia are distributed in north-western boundary of the geographical range of the species in Europe. The localities in the vicinity of Bratislava were reported by Endlicher in 1830 and included in first G. Reuss´ Flora of Slovakia published in 1853. The paper deals with local populations of the species in Bratislava (Bratislava-Karlova Ves and Bratislava-Staré Mesto), especially in the SW...

Dva nové nálezy žlaznatky slovenské Paranemastoma kochi (Opiliones: Nemastomatidae) na Moravě

Ondřej Machač

Acta Carp. Occ. 13: 20-22, 2022 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2022.003

Two new records of the Carpathian endemic harvestmen Paranemastoma kochi (Nowicki, 1870) in the Czech Republic from Beskydy and Bílé Karpaty mountains are presented. P. kochi was known from the Czech Republic only from old and unpublished records. All records are commented and summarized. The records presented in this paper confirm occurrence of P. kochi in the Czech Republic.

Acta Carp. Occ. 13: 23-49, 2022 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2022.004

The mining flies of the family Agromyzidae (Diptera) from the area of the PLA White Carpathians were studied. The research was carried out on sixteen localities representing nature reserves and monuments of this area. A total of 204 species belonging to 17 genera were identified from the gained material. Seven species were recorded as new to the fauna of the Czech Republic (Liriomyza polygalae Hering, 1927, L. valerianae Hendel, 1932, Melanagromyza nartshukae Pakalniškis, 1996, Ophiomyia hieracii Spencer, 1964, O. orientalis Černý, 1994, Phytomyza ferina Spencer, 1971 and Ph. peucedani Rydén, 1953) and...

Filip Trnka

Acta Carp. Occ. 13: 50-53, 2022 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2022.005

Rare false click beetle Farsus dubius (Piller & Mitterpacher, 1783) from family Eucnemidae has been known only from one site in the Czech Republic till now. This paper presents new finding from new locality Hodonínská Dúbrava national natural monument near Hodonín (south Moravia). One specimen was captured by flight intercept trap in the plot under canopy openness management in acidophilous oak forests on sand.

Pozoruhodný vývoj krasce dubového (Eurythyrea quercus) (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) v dřevěných sochách

Remarkable development of jewel beetle Eurythyrea quercus (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) in wooden statues

Ondřej Konvička

Acta Carp. Occ. 13: 61-67, 2022 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2022.007

It was only in 2011 that a small isolated population of the critically endangered Eurythyrea quercus (Herbst, 1780) was discovered in the Chateau Park in Veselí nad Moravou. In 2022, 201 emergency holes of E. quercus were found in five statues carved out of wood of large oaks. The statues were created in 2014 and 2020 and have been treated with a double protective coating. The wood from which the sculptures were created comes from fallen trees in the park. In 2022, 4 emergency holes of E. quercus were found in a wooden oak statue in the ZOO Zlín. The wood for the statue was imported from Lednice (south Moravia), where E....

Acta Carp. Occ. 13: 68-76, 2022 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2022.008

This paper reports the recent expansion of the Marbled Fritillary (Brenthis daphne) in Moravia, the Czech Republic. The species is recently expanding from already well populated Bílé Karpaty Mts. to the North along and through valleys of Beskydy Mts.; across the Jablunkovský průsmyk Pass (Moravskoslezské Beskydy Mts.) from Slovakia to the Northwest (first records from 2022); in Central Moravia to the West along Bečva and Morava rivers (recorded closely to Přerov city in 2022); and finally along the Czech Republic-Austria borders to the West (recently recorded from Pavlovské vrchy Mts. in 2021). The expansion is probably supported by synergistic...
