Snakeskin Grisette (Amanita ceciliae) is a rare fungus found in Silesia and northeastern and central Moravia. In the last decade, a number of new findings occurred, resulting in a total of 14 known localities. Detailed information on the present knowledge of the regional distribution of the species, based on both field records and herbarium data, is presented here. Ecology, phenology, distribution in the Czech Republic, and the global distribution range of this fungus are also summarized, together with possible explanations of its recent spread. Differences between similar species and difficulties with distinguishing between them are discussed.

P. oederianus occurs on the site together with Brachythecium glareosum, B. tommasinii, Ctenidium molluscum, Didymodon fallax, Encalypta streptocarpa, Fissidens dubius,...

Rozšírenie ostrice vláskovitej (Carex capillaris) na Slovensku

Daniel Dítě, Pavol Eliáš jun.

Acta Carp. Occ. 5: 24-32, 2014 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2014.004

Carex capillaris is an unevenly occurring species in the Slovak part of the Western Carpathians. In total, we found the incidence in 125 locations including published herbarium data and our field research. Very abundant occurrence is documented only from the Belianske Tatry Mts., the species is also relative abundant in the Červené Vrchy Mts. (Západné Tatry Mts.). In other mountains, it is rare and it is not currently confirmed in the Veľká Fatra Mts. The occurrence of C. capillaris is associated with non-forest plant communities in the upper limit of the forest; the optimum occurrence is in the subalpine zone on the limestone bedrock. In addition...

Sekundárne lesné spoločenstvá s Pinus nigra na Slovensku

Secondary woody communities with Pinus nigra in Slovakia

Peter Turis, Milan Valachovič

Acta Carp. Occ. 5: 33-45, 2014 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2014.005

Many degraded pastures in Slovakia located mainly on steep dolomite and calcareous slopes were extensively re-planted by introduced tree species Pinus nigra in the last century. Based on accesible data stored in the Slovak Central Database of Relevés (CDF) as well as on our own unpublished phytocoenological data, we decided to classify these secondary forests within the Clematido vitalbae-Pinetum nigrae association. According to the analysis of understory below with respect to the genesis of the localities all these forests can be included inside the substitute forest communities of the class Querco-Fagetea.

Petr Kocián

Acta Carp. Occ. 5: 46-55, 2014 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2014.006

The first records of invasive Senecio inaequidens on motorways and expressways in Moravia and Silesia (Czech Republic) are presented. There were 58 new localities recorded during the 2013-2014 survey. The largest population of about 100 individuals occurs on the motorway D1 between the 171.5 km and 172.0 km (section from Pávov to Brno). Smaller stabilized populations are found on the motorway D2 (section from Brno to the border with Slovakia). Considering the size of these populations, S. inaequidens has occured at these localities for at least several years, successfully breeds and is now in the migration phase of invasion here. At other sites along...

Pelyněk Tournefortův (Artemisia tournefortiana) - dálniční druh na území České republiky?

Artemisia tournefortiana - a motorway species in the Czech Republic?

Petr Kocián

Acta Carp. Occ. 5: 56-60, 2014 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2014.007

Artemisia tournefortiana was found at eight localities on motorways in southern and central Moravia. These are the first records of the species from the motorway network in the region. The species had to be introduced to the sites by road transportation or by maintenance vehicles while mowing green roadside. Artemisia tournefortiana could begin its spread on motorway network as it does in Germany.

This paper describes the spider and Harvestmen fauna on tree trunks in the locality Lhotské Paseky near Lhota u Vsetína (Vsetín district, Moravia, Czech Republic). Spiders were collected by pitfall traps which were placed on tree trunks (spruce and beech) at three different heights - 0.5, 2 and 4 m. A total 33 spider species and 3 Harvestmen species were collected. More species were collected on the spruce trunks then on the beech trunks. Drapetisca socialis was the most abundant species on beech; Amaurobius fenestralis and Harvestman Platybunus bucephalus were the most abundant on spruce. A rare finding is the Carpathian endemic species Dasumia carpatica,...

Acta Carp. Occ. 5: 81-189, 2014 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2014.013

The cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo) were observed during 19 winter seasons (late November to early March) between 1994 and 2013. There were 410 records altogether on rivers, still water bodies and during flight between them. The population size fluctuated between 6 to 680 individuals (average 290,3 individuals). The cormorants used several permanent hibernation places and some temporary overnight stands. They were abundant on the main Bečva river, less numerous on the Vsetínská Bečva, and rare on the Rožnovská Bečva and tributaries. The cormorants moved to the higher parts of the rivers or even to streams during deep frosts. An albinotic individual...
