The Swiss willow (Salix helvetica) is an endemie species of Central Europe belonging to Salix sect. Villosae. It is distributed in the Alps (from Austria to France), and in the Western Carpathians (in Slovakia and Poland). This study presents knowledge on historical and recent distributional range of this species in the Western Carpathians. The species is restricted only to the Tatra Mts. within the Western Carpathians and it occurs only in three recent localities in the Tatry Zachodnie Mts. in Poland and in twenty two localities in the Nízké, Západné and Vysoké Tatry Mts. in Slovakia. History of taxonomical treatment of Salix helvetica in the Western...

Acta Carp. Occ. 3: 9-20, 2012 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2012.002
Prenanth hawkweed (Hieracium prenanthoides) is a collective species with disjunctional Eurasian range. The study deals with the species distribution in the Western Carpathians, based on a revision of herbarium specimens and botanical literature. The species occurs mainly in higher Western Carpathian mountain ranges beyond tree line. Main distribution centres are in Vysoké and Belianské Tatry, Malá and Veľká Fatra and Nízke Tatry. In other areas, the species is less common (Slovenský raj, Muránska planina) or rare (Beskydy, Gorce, Kremnické and Spišské vrchy, Slovenské rudohorie). A distribution map was constructed using the obtained data. Spatial patterns...

Acta Carp. Occ. 3: 21-43, 2012 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2012.003
Ornithogalum pyrenaicum subsp. sphaerocarpum is listed among critically threatened species in the Czech Republic. Its recent occurrence within the territory of the Czech Republic is known only from two discrete regions (Hostýnské vrchy Mts. and Bílé Karpaty Mts.). This study presents the knowledge on both historical and recent distribution of the species and describes new localities of its occurrence. Ecology of the species in Hostýnské vrchy Mts. is summarized and specific conservation actions are suggested.

It contains floristic records from the territory of Vsetínské vrchy - a mountain range in East Moravia (Czech Republic) bounded by the Vsetínská and Rožnovská Bečva rivers. Scanned original as well as transcript of the text is provided. List of taxa mentioned in the manuscript is also included. The most important records are briefly discussed including 18 rare or regionally extinct taxa (i. e. Alyssum alyssoides, Bidens cernuus, Bryonia alba, Cornus mas,...
Rybí osídlení vybraných přítoků Rožnovské Bečvy

Acta Carp. Occ. 3: 86-94, 2012 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2012.005
Within the scope of this study, ichthyological research was carried out in the area of three streams (Vermiřovský potok, Starozuberský potok, Zákopecký potok), tributaries of the river Rožnovská Bečva, in 2009. Five localities (100 m line transects) were studied within each of these streams using electrical battery-operated aggregate. The main aims of this work were: to find out the current structure of fish species settlement and quantitative characteristics of the populations, to specify the fragmentation of the streams with transverse objects, and to assess the influence of these barriers on Siberian sculpin presence. Coexistence of two fish species...

Acta Carp. Occ. 3: 111-113, 2012 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2012.009
The invasive species Senecio inaequidens was found in town of Nový Jičín, Czech Republic. This finding represents the first evidence of road traffic introduction of this species in the northeastern part of the Czech Republic. Because of this new introduction alongside the road in the urban area, it may suggest this is due to the intensity of the road traflic in this region. Possible self-incompatibility of the plants found is shortly discussed.

Další pozorování budníčka zeleného (Phylloscopus trochiloides) v moravských Západních Karpatech
Further records of the Greenish Warbler (Phylloscopus trochiloides) in the Moravian Western Carpathians
Karel Pavelka, Jan Pavelka
Acta Carp. Occ. 3: 131-134, 2012 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2012.017
We report six records of the Greenish Warbler in the Moravian Westem Carpathians in 1992-1995. Intensively singing males were observed between 28 May and 23 June between 380 m and 630 m a.s.l. in deep valleys along water streams in deciduous and mixed forests and in shrubs. While we consider the occurrence between late May and on early June as breeding vagrancy of unpaired males, the observations in the second half of June could be a breeding event because the nesting was possible.
