First record of the Dark Whiteface (Leucorrhinia albifrons) in the district Vsetín (Eastern Moravia, the Czech Republic)

The Dark Whiteface (Leucorrhinia albifrons, Burmeister 1839) is considered to be a critically endangered species in the Czech Republic. This report gives the first information of occurence in the region based on an observation of one mature male at pond in Valašská Bystřice village (Easttern Moravia, Vsetín district) on 27.vii.2008 at altitude 600 m a.s.l. Occurrence of this species is unusual in this higher altitude in the Czech Republic.
