Nutrition value of local varieties of apple trees typical of the White Carpathians region

Local varieties of apple trees are typical of the White Carpathians region. They can exceed common comercially grown varieties in many nutritional values. The aim of this contribution was to monitor the content of some significant nutritional components - dry matter, vitamin C, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium and to compare the values of their content with the commercially grown varieties of 'Golden Delicious', 'Spartan' and 'Rubín'. Altogether 18 local varieties of apple trees were chosen. High nutritional values were found in, for example, 'Panenské české' variety or 'Jadernička moravská' which is one of the most typical of the White Carpathians region.
