Acta Carp. Occ. 6: 3-16, 2015 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2015.001
The historical mining or prospection of precious metals in the Moravskoslezské Beskydy Mountains are mentioned in the literature and reflected in some local names. The remains after historical mining were revised and studied at five sites (Bílý Kříž, Zlaté ďury, Lubno, Smradlava, Stříbrník). Thirteen samples of slope/stream sediment to analyse the composition of heavy minerals and samples of hydrothermal vein have been collected. The assemblages of heavy minerals, chemical composition of selected heavy minerals and abundances of trace elements in vein pyrite were studied there. The main assemblages of heavy minerals included garnet-zircon-rutile-tourmaline...

Acta Carp. Occ. 6: 17-22, 2015 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2015.002
Trichophorum alpinum is one of the rarest relic species of the Slovak flora. Up to now, its occurrence was documented on seven localities. Five of them from the Borská nížina lowland (Záhorie region), one from foothills of the Malá Fatra Mts and one from the Vysoké Tatry Mts. Since the 1990s the species has persisted only at one locality in the Vysoké Tatry Mts in the Temnosmrečianska dolina valley, where it occurs in subalpine wetland vegetation. All other occurrences disappeared. Here we provide data on a newly discovered (eighth) site of the species in the Kobylia dolina valley in the Vysoké Tatry Mts, including species composition of its vegetation....

Acta Carp. Occ. 6: 23-27, 2015 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2015.003
Flea Sedge (Carex pulicaris) is a very rare species in Slovakia, recently confirmed only from six localities in the northern regions of Orava and Liptov. Its recent occurrence in the Borská nížina Lowland in the south-west of the country has not been confirmed with the last known populations possibly extinct. We provide data about a new locality of Carex pulicaris in the Veľká Fatra Mountains from where it has not been reported so far. It is also the first known occurrence in the vegetation of rich fens of the association Caricetum davallianae. We also bring information about the current conservation status of Carex pulicaris on its recent localities...

We also report finds of several...

Altogether 593 taxa of vascular plants have been found (and additional 268 have been excerpted from literature and databases) of which 90 are considered to be threatened in the Czech Republic, 28 in the Slovak Republic. The most important finds include Alchemilla suavis, Botrychium...

We recorded 30 species belonging to the families Amaranthaceae, Chenopodiaceae and Polygonaceae that exceed their currently known altitudinal limits in Slovakia. The most important localities are situated in the Vysoké Tatry Mts.
Lesné spoločenstvá s borovicou lesnou na Slovensku - koncept ich klasifikácie
Scots pine forest communities in Slovakia - concept of classification
Milan Valachovič
Acta Carp. Occ. 6: 84-92, 2015 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2015.007
Natural forest with Pinus sylvestris occupy suitable places in whole Eurasia between Scottish Highlands and southern Spain in the West to Vladivostok in the East. In addition to the natural distribution in Europe there are large areas with pine monocultures. Wide climatic and edaphic range, different origin and history of stands seriously complicate the classification of forest communities. The paper outlines a concept of classification of Scots pine forests in Slovakia taking into account the systems accepted in neighbouring countries. Traditionally, relic pine forests on limestone are classified in a separate class: Erico-Pinetea. Acidophilous communities...

Acta Carp. Occ. 6: 93-107, 2015 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2015.008
This paper deals with vegetation changes and fauna of beetles of a part of the Kněhyně stream in Beskydy Mts. some 10 years after its revitalization. The revitalised part of the Kněhyně stream was filled by sediments in 2014 and the main stream bed was straightened and sank into the sediments. Willow scrub of loamy and sandy river banks is the main vegetation type at the revitalised part of the stream. In total, 95 plant species have been recorded in 2014 at the locality and Myricaria germanica and Salix silesiaca are among the noteworthy findings. In total, 105 species in 13 families of beetles (Coleoptera) have been identified in 2014. Only fifteen...

Acta Carp. Occ. 6: 111-114, 2015 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2015.010
New faunistic records of Rhysodes sulcatus (Fabricius, 1787) and Omoglymmius germari (Ganglbauer, 1892) in Moravia from floodplain forests are presented. These rare and critically endangered species were found always in fallen poplars felled by beavers. It is the second well-known record of the O. germari from the Czech Republic. Published records of occurrence in the Czech Republic are summarized, all concrete records are plotted in distribution maps.

In both localities, adults and larvae were found under the bark of old laying trunks of Canadian poplar (Populus ×canadensis). Published bionomical data of the species are summarized and our own observations on bionomy and ethology are presented.

Rozšíření vodomila Laccobius (Dimorpholaccobius) simulatrix Orchymont, 1932 v České republice a poznámky k určování tohoto druhu
The distribution of the water scavenger beetle Laccobius (Dimorpholaccobius) simulatrix Orchymont, 1932 in the Czech Republic and comments to the identification of this species
Dušan Trávníček
Acta Carp. Occ. 6: 123-125, 2015 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2015.013
The identification of all specimens (5 males, 1 female) of the rare water scavenger beetle Laccobius simulatrix recorded recently in the Czech Republic was revised. The revision showed that 4 specimens are virtually immature specimens of the species Laccobius striatulus (Fabricius, 1801). The identification features of these specimens are not distinct and furthermore their male genitalia are slightly misshaped and thus they are similar to the not much precise illustrations of the aedeagus of L. simulatrix, which are published in the commonly used keys to the identification of the hydrophilid beetles in the Central Europe. To enable the identification...
Rozšíření a stav vybraných populací modráska hořcového Rebelova (Phengaris alcon rebeli) (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae) ve Zlínském kraji (vychodní Morava)

Pavel Šnajdara, Lukáš Spitzer
Acta Carp. Occ. 6: 126-138, 2015 | DOI: 10.62317/aco.2015.014
This paper reports the presence knowledge about distribution and state of some of the Alcon Large Blue (Phengaris alcon rebeli) populations in territory of eastern Moravia (Zlín region, Czech Republic). We altogether described most of the known populations in region - 16 populations (belong to seven faunistic grids) and evaluated its threat and conservation value. Most of populations are recently very small or close to extinct. Only few localities host vital populations and only half of them have appropriate management. Unfortunately, his possibilities to widespread to its environs are due to missing biotopes limited. Appropriate approaches to habitat...
